Games to Avoid
Not every popular genre is a bad idea. The risky part is building the most generic version of it.
For solo UEFN creators, the biggest risk is spending weeks or months on a map that has no clear angle, no strong first impression, and no reason for players to choose it over hundreds of similar islands.
Risky formats to rethink
- Generic 1v1 Build Fight
- Basic Box Fight
- Red vs Blue with every weapon
- Random FFA with no hook
- Practice map that does everything
- 100-level Deathrun with no twist
- Huge zombie open world
- Oversized tycoon
- XP / AFK / reward-bait concepts
These genres are not impossible. The generic version of them is what makes them risky for a solo creator.
